I’m a Durham Creative Community Fellow in 2025
I’m delighted to say I have been awarded a place on the Durham Creative Community Fellowship programme, which frankly looks absolutely mint. Especially pleased to see a number of familiar faces amongst my fellow-fellows, and all of them super canny Durham creatives.
For me its come at a perfect time in my life and career: after 10 years in art school (yes 10) I went freelance and 2025 marks 10 years of that rollercoaster. I’ve worked on some incredible projects during that decade, but 10 years of basically taking whatever job someone will pay me for feels like more than enough and the time has come to start making the projects that I want to see in the world - in my community - happen. So that’s what this is about for me - learning alongside other creatives how to bring our ideas to life in the real world and do the best we can for this place we call home. I’m really excited to get started.
The Bowes Museum’s announcement of the 2025 cohort on Facebook
The Bowes Museum, who are facilitationg the programme, said:
“We’re thrilled to announce the inaugural cohort of Durham Creative Community Fellows!
Join us in celebrating this trailblazing group of inspiring artists, community organisers, administrators and creative entrepreneurs harnessing the power of arts and culture to create meaningful change across County Durham.
Starting today, they’re embarking on a nine-month online and in-person journey to develop their leadership skills, grow their projects and form a community of practice to amplify their work. We can’t wait to see the impact they’ll make!”
